Width is the constraint, not length
A typical 1:64 car is about 28 mm wide. The C8 is ~30 mm — only 2 mm more on paper, but in a chamber sized around a normal car that is the difference between framed and crammed. It is also 19 mm tall, one of the lowest cars you will display, so the failure mode is a wide, low car sitting in a chamber with a band of dead air above it.
Practical rule for a C8: check width and height, not length. Length rarely runs out first on this one.
The mid-engine framing problem
This is the part no size chart tells you. A mid-engine layout pushes the cabin forward and cuts the rear deck short, so the visual mass sits behind the middle of the car rather than over a long bonnet. Centre a C8 geometrically in a chamber and it looks subtly wrong — nose-heavy, as though it has drifted forward.
Sliding it very slightly rearward, a millimetre or two, puts the visual centre where the eye expects it. Front-engine cars do not need this; the C8, NSX and mid-engine supercars generally do.
How to measure in thirty seconds
Ruler, three numbers: length including any front splitter; width at the widest point of the rear haunches, not the doors; height from the wheels to the top of any spoiler. Lighting a red car
Red is deceptive. Warm light oversaturates it towards orange, and low-CRI light collapses the distinction between the body colour and the shadow under the sills — which on a low, wide car is most of what gives it shape. And regardless of colour: UV is what fades printed tampos and yellows white plastic parts over months of display. Look for lighting stated as UV-free.
